Help the ADK Avy Staff Attend Pro One Avalanche Training to Support Community Avalanche Awareness in the Adirondacks.

East Coast Avalanche Education is fundraising on behalf of the Adirondack Community Avalanche Project (@adkavy) to support their mission of spreading avalanche awareness and education in the Adirondack region. Donations will help to cover the cost of two Pro One Avalanche course seats for ADK Avy staff, February 17-21, with AAI and East Coast Avalanche Education at Mount Washington.

The efforts of ADK Avy have greatly benefited the northeastern backcountry community through a grassroots approach to regional snowpack, avalanche, and weather observations, as well as community organizing for regional avalanche education opportunities. By providing professional avalanche training for their team, we can help them to continue to grow their organization to the benefit of all who recreate within the Adirondack Park.

Our mission at East Coast Avalanche Education is to foster equity, inclusion, and safe access to the outdoors while safeguarding and stewarding the environment. Supporting professional avalanche training for the Adirondack Community Avalanche Project team directly propels this mission forward. We believe in supporting organizations that are doing good in their communities, and have been especially inspired by the hard work of the Adirondack Community Avalanche Project team who acknowledged the gap in avalanche forecast resources and education opportunities in the Adirondacks, and responded by putting in the work to organize a community observation platform.
